About Win By Knockout
David Linhart and his wife are both in graduate school in Boston, MA with a toddler who calls all the shots. He has led the youth ministry at the Greater Boston Vineyard and now contributes to worship generally under Christopher Greco's leadership, all the while reflecting on past projects ranging from an eclectic acoustic duo to an eight-piece touring reggae band.
He has treated shows as rallies for social awareness—confronting violence against women, promoting ethical eating, securing fair wages—and shared stages with The Wailers, Steel Pulse, Michael Franti and others. One recent project was a solo benefit EP for Hope for the Children of Haiti, a school and orphanage with ties to members of the Greater Boston Vineyard.
Win By Knockout is his current gospel reggae outfit, and his first Varietal Records release Risk Everything celebrates the lifestyle of tangible love that Jesus modeled, summed up in the opening track Example: "Let me be an example of your love/In the way that you take care of me/Let me step in for someone in need."
